An Overview of Male Rhinoplasty
The male rhinoplasty procedure is generally an outpatient surgery performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Ward works on the cartilage and supporting bone of the nose. Typically incisions will be placed inside the nostrils and/or perhaps a small incision across the columella, the tissue separating the nostrils.
What is the Recovery Time?
Men’s rhinoplasty patients go home with an external splint in place, which is usually removed in seven to 10 days. Most male rhinoplasty patients are able to deal with any pain or discomfort with oral medication. Bruising generally subsides in seven to 10 days, while slight swelling may be present for a few weeks. Many patients take two to three weeks off of work if they are in the public eye.
