Men’s Ear Pinning (Otoplasty) – Vancouver

David K. Ward, MD, treats many men seeking otoplasty, which is also known as ear pinning, at his state-of-the-art cosmetic surgery Vancouver facility. Please read the information below to learn more about how this procedure can help men whose ears protrude from the side of their head.

An Overview of the Male Ear Pinning (Otoplasty) Procedure

Otoplasty is performed as an outpatient surgery at Dr. Ward’s facility. The ear’s cartilage is reshaped via a small, well-hidden incision to help draw the ears closer to the patient’s head.

What is the Recovery Time?

Most male ear pinning patients only need oral medication to handle any discomfort and wear a gauze bandage for approximately a week to help the ears heal in their new, flat position. Patients can generally go back to work after a week, and it takes approximately 10 to 20 days for their ears to fully heal though a faint scar that will fade will be present behind the ear.
